Catamaran Trip and Dolphins!

One of the "don't miss" activities for visitors to Mauritius is a catamaran trip from Riviere Noire Bay.  We did our first one this weekend, and it won't be the last!  First thing in the morning, get down to the dock and get on the catamaran, put your shoes away, you won't need them all day . . . you want some juice, pain au chocolat, rum and coke, m'am? Then set sail for the dolphin feeding areas, and there they were:  Dolphins, dozens of them!  Jumping, playing, showing off.  Then, raise the sails and head for some azure blue waters for snorkeling off the boat.  Shelly and I saw lots of beautiful fish and coral. Another fellow and I tried to open a chicken wire fish trap 18 feet under the surface that had caught some beautiful angel fish, without success.  Back on the boat, it's time for lunch: fresh grilled fish, chicken, rice, salad, and whatever you want to drink.  A little more sun bathing on the trampoline, and it's a trip to the island on the smaller launch boat.  More snorkeling in shallow water, where we swam with a school of translucent trumpet fish.  Back to the catamaran, we cruise around in some strong winds, coffee, tea, and chocolate cake . . . a little open air nap, and some high fives and good byes with the 5 member crew . . . and it's back to shore and home for another magical sunset.  Wow!  What a day!
