The son/nephew of dear Mauritian friends was married last week, and we were honored to be among the invited guests. These Hindu weddings are elaborate affairs, bound by tradition and lifted by pageantry. Preparations are elaborate, food abundant, and the bride radiant. Being so close to the family, and knowing this would be our last wedding in Mauritius made it a poignant and bittersweet time.  |
