Independence Day in America is celebrated by our diplomatic missions all over the world. Here in Mauritius, it was a great time to invite host country dignitaries and embassy friends to help us celebrate our 237th birthday as a nation. Shelly and I helped host the Ambassador's reception and celebrate the Fourth; then, we spent the noon hour on the holiday at the radio station, where I explained in Mauritian Creole how and why we celebrate our values on our nation's birthday. God Bless America and Happy Independence Day, USA!
