We toured Tierra del Fuego National Park, and cruised through Glacier Alley on the Beagle Channel, all in one spectacular day.  One cannot help but be impressed by the sheer desolate beauty of the landscape and the harsh conditions of life there.  The day was windy and freezing.  The Park is a spectacle of nature with bays, lakes, mountains, waterfalls, and rapidly changing skies.  Traversing the Beagle Channel made us wonder how the small sailing ships of the 16th and 17th centuries, including Magellan's small fleet and Darwin's Beagle exploration ship, could endure the rigors and the uncertainty of the voyage.  Amazing lands, waters and brutal weather . . . met by an indomitable human spirit of exploration and adventure!
